Redwood Meadows Represented at Tae Kwon-Do Championships
Joining 10,000 martial artists from over 20 countries, students from Redwood Meadows Tae Kwon-Do are headed to Coventry, England this summer to participate in the Tae Kwon-Do International (TI) World Championships in July.
Redwood students including head instructor and 7th-degree black belt Jason Smith will test their skills in sparring matches, patterns divisions, and board breaking competition during the massive three-day event. Throughout this past year, students have been training as members of the United Traditional Tae Kwon-Do Canada (UTTC) team to prepare for this high-level competition.
For the last 28 years, Redwood Meadows Tae Kwon-Do instructors have been sharing their knowledge with a focus on the βartβ of the Korean martial art. Although opportunities for competitive tournaments are available, the emphasis is on traditional technique and personal development along with the lifelong enjoyment of training for its fitness and social benefits for all ages.
